![]() If you look at the entire Hiigaran fleet as revealed 's the same pattern.Ĭonsider too that in the latest trailer, the Frigates look to clearly come in squads, and perform almost like the corvettes from the previous games. The only ships that come next are the Carriers which are considered super capital ships. Look at the Battlecruisers/Railgun Cruiser from DoK, it shares the same class with the Production Cruiser and Support Cruiser. I really hope I'm wrong, but I've dissected Deserts of Kharak's gameplay model enough to know that in BBI's idealized and refined gameplay model, anything that is a "capital ship" would fall under the "cruiser" size. The latest interview also seems to imply that there isn't much more to show. I am of the opinion that these are all the ship classes we'll get, after seeing the latest trailer. One glance at the HW 3 fleet and it's striking how consistent the ships are in terms of design to each other but also to the more angular mothership. This is a first for a Homeworld game since both 1 and 2 either had ships with inconsistent design styles or at least the mothership featuring a very different look. A consistent design language across the entire fleet.I like how HW 3 is showing restraint in this regard and keeping ships relatively simple in base geometry. HW 2 tried to flex its technical upgrades by giving ships more geometry which smoothed out much of their character. HW 1 ships had relatively simple geometry and bold angles due to engine limitations, but which also gave the ships a distinct minimalist look. A return to bold angles and flat surfaces.Unlike HW 2, whose larger ships which had largely conventional tubular hulls, HW 3 ships have interesting silhouettes from multiple angles. A return to more visually interesting geometry in the ship designs. ![]() For more information: /r/NoParticipationĤ) No discussion of piracy or circumventing DRMĥ) Use Spoilers and/or do not post spoilers in the titlesħ) No direct questions to BBI or GBX staff as posts on their ownĨ) Low effort posts will be removed at our discretionīlackbird Interactive (Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak) Banner images adapted from Walter-NEST's reimaginings of Homeworld 2 skyboxes, found here ![]()
